Sadly no gardening was done, although I did visit two garden centres, but it was mostly a day of kid related stuff that involved a suprising amount of food that is no good for you and new shoes.
So in lieu of any real gardening drama here is my monthly panoramic pictures:

There is something about digging in the dirt that is soothing. Saint Exupery talked about this in his book: Wind, Sand and Stars. I will never forget that. It was a line to the effect of getting your hands in the dirt bringing one closer to nature and what life is all about.
Hi Lucinda. I couldn’t agree with you more. There is definitely something healing in having your hands in the soil. It always makes me feel invigorated after a good session in the garden.

Eagle eye Middle Mudlet (who loves these panoramic pictures you post) has spotted something in the distance, between the two main buildings, behind the red tractor and in front of the hedge. We can’t make out what it is and so please could you tells us 🙂 Thanks.

Hi Elaine. You can let the wee Middle Mudlet know that sadly the object in the distance is nothing special. When we got here there was this huge “art” log in the middle of a circle bed with paving bricks all around it, and lots of succulents and yukkas planted among it. We hate it and have tried to kill all the plants and so it is a weedy mess. The problem is the log is too big to just move, so maybe we need to just burn it, or hire a chainsaw. It’s one of “those” projects that you never get round to.
I might put something interesting in my next monthly photo for Middle Mudlet to find.

You could have a ceremonial burning of the log, together with anything else you need to get rid of 🙂
We have a pile of tree branches that Mud keeps saying he’ll saw into logs for burning over the winter but I think they will probably still end up on the village bonfire come November 😉
