It is so easy to see life passing by when the seasons anxiously waited for, although some with greater excitement than others. And so we wake up today, firmly in the grasp of winter. Although having said that it isn’t too bad at them moment. It is gloomy, but not chilly and damp but not sodden. So far so good.
This is a bit of a contrast to last week. Maybe autumn was trying to impress winter, so it sent forth not one but two crop destroying frosts with just days left on its time. Although you can almost forgive – almost, as the frosts were accompanied by the most amazing blue sky days. This made the sadness of harvesting from frost touched plants a little more tolerable. I was actually quite surprised by how much I gathered.

I just hope this season will be kind to us. I have great plans and projects for the garden this winter.
Come again soon – I’ve switched my spade for hammer.
